Gay, black man blinded in attacks by Orthodox security patrol sues NYC

Partner Andrew Stoll, represents Fort Greene, Brooklyn resident Taj Patterson in claim that the City and the NYPD gave the Shomrim security patrol official recognition, money and impunity, which resulted in Patterson’s brutal beating.

Was Williamsburg Orthodox security patrol that blinded a gay, black man, protected by the District Attorney and the NYPD? The 90th Precinct in Williamsburg, Brooklyn prematurely closed the case despite having four witnesses to the assault — delaying the investigation for the crucial hours and days subsequent to the beating.

Andrew Stoll has accused the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office of refusing to indict one of the assailants because of his family’s political ties.
